Amazon buys social network literary Goodreads

Amazon announced redeem the social network literature Goodreads. The opportunity for the perfect online magazsn new services for its Kindle electronic reading light and use literary community platform to increase sales.

Goodreads is a social network for lovers of literature, involving 16 million members. Launched in 2007, this popular platform allows users to communicate with each other and exchange views on their readings in real time. By buying this service, Amazon would therefore probably add recommendations books on Goodreads visible to those already present on Amazon.

Goodreads however, should keep its headquarters in San Francisco, even though the Amazon HQ is in Seattle. Goodreads community should continue in its current form. The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.

 

Russ Grandinetti, Amazon's vice president, said in a statement: "Goodreads has helped change the way we discover and discuss books. With Kindle, Amazon has helped develop reading around the world (...) Together we intend to develop new ways to delight readers and writers. "
