Google and Cisco working on projects connected car
Google and Cisco working on projects connected car: two companies together, each in turn, with the German company Continental tire manufacturer for this development. The smart car appeals to many actors who want to prepare for this technological revolution.
Google and Cisco have presented their joint development of a connected car. The German company Continental presented a feasibility study of a vehicle with a safer and homogeneous network technology, the security is guaranteed.
In these "smart" cars software will have access to real-time traffic, communicate with other vehicles or infrastructure such as traffic lights, and even run without driver. This car will also be equipped with a 3G or 4G connection. It will be possible to connect to wireless networks.
If Google also has plans for smart car, the Internet giant has however difficult to find partners in the middle of the car, even if it is still in contact with Continental. Google would make cars driving by themselves, a kind of "taxis robots" that would reduce the accident rate of the road. Google does not intend to build the car itself and that is why an agreement with a manufacturer seems essential.
According to the German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Continental also ally with IBM, still a project car connected. The supplier should have these partnerships in the next Car Show in Frankfurt in September.
Manufacturers also are working on such projects as Volvo, who said last year, launching its first autonomous cars that can run up to 50 km / h by 2014. Prototypes have already been tested.
