Synology Launches DiskStation DS214+ To strengthen its entry level

To strengthen its entry level Synology Launches DiskStation DS214 + (with two bays) based on DSM 4.3, the home operating system based on Linux. It is intended for file sharing and centralized backups. Powered by an Intel Atom dual-core chip clocked at 1.33 GHz supported by 1GB of RAM as standard, the DS214 + surpasses its predecessor by 89% with a read speed of 208 MB / s and write speed 153 MB / s in RAID 1, according to Taiwanese manufacturer.

Able to aggregate LAN links, the DS214 + two Gigabit Ethernet ports. It also has two hot-swappable bays, tool-free locking disk, two USB 3.0 ports and an eSATA port for faster data transfer. For online services, Cloud Station allows users to synchronize files between multiple devices and maintain files days. The Mail Server module converts it into a NAS server dedicated courier, while Mail Station provides a webmail interface for users to access their emails. A battery of additional modules is available from the web interface, including Amazon Glacier agent to perform tape backups. For the price of the DS214 +, Synology announces 359 dollars excluding tax.
