Google Cardboard or virtual reality

Google took advantage of Google I / O to unveil its virtual reality headset. A dedicated app allows already navigate immersion in a virtual environment. The kit is available for a low price.

Google made ​​a big splash in the race for the VR with Cardboard. Stronger than the Oculus, more advanced than the Morpheus, the Cardboard can immerse themselves in the famous apps Street View or Google Earth, and the lyrical epic of a hat in the wind. The device runs on Android, providing an accessible format for the development of new features.

Regarding the hardware, Google has unveiled a stylish design object, which still retains much simplicity. The hull was made ​​with a high quality cardboard, while glue, magnet and velcro keep everything smoothly. Add biconvex lens with a focal length of 40 mm and an Android smartphone.

We can say that Google engineers are not lacking in humor and even a bit of derision against Oculus VR and Sony. but the Cardboard project is serious. If the material itself can make us smile, all actually works, offering a real immersion, although of poor quality, in a virtual environment.
