More than billion tablets and smartphones will be sold in 2013

Global sales of tablet computers and multimedia phones should pass the one billion units next year, according to a study from research firm Gartner.

In total 821 million mobile devices expected to be sold this year and $ 1.2 billion in 2013, according to Gartner, which for this popularity will also have effects on uses of companies.

 "For most businesses, smartphones and tablets will not replace PCs completely, but the ubiquity and the growing popularity of tablets are changing the way companies look at their strategy in terms of equipment and how consumers adopt devices, "said Carolina Milanesi, research fellow at Gartner.
