Nokia puts an end to the development of Symbian OS
Nokia has announced the impending death of its operating system Symbian OS which will not be updated by the manufacturer.
Last year, the Finn had sold its OS to Accenture which now provides support. For its mobile, Nokia is now focusing all on Windows Phone 8. End of 2012, the manufacturer had yet launched a latest mobile led by Symbian v3, 808 PureView. In the last quarter of 2012, Nokia sold 2.2 million Symbian mobiles against 4.4 Lumia led by Windows Phone 8. Basic models and low cost based on Symbian could still be offered by other manufacturers in emerging countries.
