Google is preparing a competitor to Spotify

The official announcement could come today on the occasion of the opening of the Google I / O conference in San Francisco.

The search giant has signed an agreement with three major music majors Warner, Universal and Sony for both YouTube and Google Play. Therefore, it opens the way for the establishment of a music streaming service competitor Deezer or Spotify. Note that contrary Apple working on a service online radio like Pandora.

In addition, Vivendi, home of Universal Music, has released its results for the first quarter increased by 13% compared to the same period of 2012. For the first time, sales of digital music has surpassed physical media with a ratio of 54/46.

Note that Google already has an online music service in Google Play but does not allow for the moment to buy tracks or albums, like what Apple offers iTunes. With its streaming service, Google takes a step ahead of his rival.
