Intel created a division for future terminals
The recently CEO of Intel, Brian Krzanich, did not wait long to make his mark by creating a future dedicated terminals division. A former head of Intel's mobility unit, Mike Bell, will be responsible for this entity.
A few days after taking office as CEO, Brian Krzanich exchange the Intel organization. In particular, he created a "New Devices" division that will focus on emerging trends, including terminals "ultra-mobile". This unit will be headed by Mike Bell, former co-head of the Mobility Division at Intel and support to push x86 processors for Android. This division will be responsible for transforming the "cool" (sic) technology business model and innovative products in order to evangelize and become leaders in the market, Intel explained to the site of the Wall Street Journal.
Reuters reported the first Organisational Changes citing an unnamed source. The spokesman of the founder of Santa Clara, Chuck Mulloy, confirmed to the news agency that Brian Krzanich sent an internal letter outlining the changes, but he did not elaborate on these developments. Additional information has been requested by our colleagues IDG NS unanswered for now.
The information on the skills of the future division "New Devices" are yet unclear. Presumably this group was created to be the iron Intel launches terminals, beyond smartphones, such as Google Glass or the Nike + Fuelband. The founder does not want to be caught off guard as was the case in mobility. Silvermont Atom chips should be the first low power processors for mobile devices.
