Samsung launches apps contest for the Galaxy S4

To promote peer-to-peer technology with its smartphone the Galaxy S4 and service Group Play, Samsung equips a contest application development 800 000 $.

With the "Smart App Challenge 2013 for the Galaxy S4" Samsung launches another contest application development which will start on June 20 This time, it offers developers to build apps for its smartphone the Galaxy S4 using its technology peer-to-peer Chord. This allows users to make connections without direct wire between the terminals without going through an online server or a mobile network. Contestants must use the SDK Chord associated with it.

The Korean automaker seeks to promote among users, as the Group Play, a service for multi-player games, and sharing music and photos. Samsung is the largest manufacturer of smartphones, but it relies on the Android ecosystem of Google, for most of its apps and its online offerings, so they also smartphones running its competitors.

Apps available in this contest will be judged on their uniqueness, their commercial potential and design. They should offer support in English. Samsung has given its support to 800 000 dollars total price for the ten winning applications. He also planned to evaluate funding opportunities through its investment subsidiary Samsung Venture Investment Corporation.

The apps can be submitted between 20 June and 31 August 2013. They will be examined between October and November 2013 and the ten winners are expected in December.
