Apple filed a request to register the trademark "iWatch" in Japan
After Russia, Apple filed a request to register the trademark "iWatch" in Japan, suggesting that the company is preparing to launch a watch connected worldwide.
This request was filed on June 3 at the Japan Patent Office, in various categories of products, including PCs, peripherals, GPS and voice recognition software. It was released on June 27 and is still under consideration by the organism, in a process that will take several months. This request was made in Roman characters, usually used by the Cupertino company for its product lines in Japan, as opposed to Japanese characters.
Earlier this month, a Russian news website stated that the group had taken steps to remove the iWatch brand in this country. In the United States, several patents - one for a curved battery, the other for a flexible screen - and various articles suggest that Apple is working on a draft electronic watch. Sony did not wait for Apple in this market. Last week, Japan unveiled the second version of its SmartWatch, a water resistant model equipped with NFC technology. Samsung is also working on a watch connected, and a number of small start-ups, such as Pebble launched terminals.
