Google satisfied with the results of its instant voice translator
Google claims to have achieved results almost perfect during the test phases of its real-time voice translator, known as Babelfish code. No indication has yet been given as to the launch of the finished product.
Google translation feature has rendered service to many businessmen traveling, expats and tourists struggling to be understood on their resort. But the tool of web and mobile translation depends entirely on the ability of the user to handle the keyboard, so without the possibility to copy and paste a written text, a translation of a language whose characters are foreign to it sometimes remains problematic.
To remedy this, Google has already thought of a feature handwriting input. Launched on July 24, it can "draw" characters by touching the screen or using the mouse. A good start calling the next step: the complete disappearance of the keyboard.

The company develops a voice translation tool, inspired by the famous fish in the Babelfish translator project book, The Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. In an interview with the Times, Hugo Barra vice president of product management said that Android current prototypes allowed an almost "100% reliable" result: for some language combinations, under laboratory conditions (without background noise and through an optimal internet connection), two people speaking totally different languages can communicate via the system.
Similarly, researchers at Microsoft Asia presented this month a system associated with Kinect sensor capable of simultaneously translate a conversation in sign language or transcribe written in sign language through an avatar text. The potential of mobile applications in speech recognition is far from being exhausted.
