Ubuntu Edge fails in its crowdfunding campaign

Ubuntu has failed in its crowdfunding campaign that would feed the proposed Ubuntu Edge smartphone.

  To finance its project Edge smartphone Ubuntu, Canonical had last month launched a crowdfunding campaign, participatory financing, a method that has proven for many projects. The "backers" should be promptly refunded the amounts paid and the Ubuntu project Edge meanwhile paused. In an interview with the Guardian, head of Canonical Mark Shuttleworth said he did not despair one or more manufacturers appear to put the missing 20 million dollars, before the backers are reimbursed.
