The next Android 4.4 will be called KitKat
Google spent a partnership with Nestle: the next operating system Android 4.4 will be called KitKat. No information, however, was unveiled on its technical characteristics or on its release date.
New version of the Android operating system was called KitKat, the name of the famous chocolate bar Nestle. Exit thus the name "Key Lime Pie" which was announced unofficially lately! The sweet name is not new to Android, because each previous version had received a little bland name. In order: "Cupcake", "Donut", "Eclair", "Froyo", "Gingerbread", "Honeycomb", "Ice Cream Sandwich" and finally, the last date for version 4.1 "Jelly Bean".
If the previous year, Google took the names of confectionery, this is certainly the first time he chose the name of a registered trademark. This partnership between Google and Nestle goes even further: KitKat offers its consumers to win a Nexus 7 or credit on Google Play.
This marketing campaign is also attractive as it is, however, provides no information on the technical details of future operating system, or even its possible release date.
On his Twitter account, Sundar Pichai, head of Android and Chrome at Google, said that Android now fitted to more than one billion smartphones or tablets worldwide.
