NSA installed in the U.S. Embassy in Berlin
The new U.S. embassy in Berlin was opened in 2008 with great fanfare . Present
were former U.S. President George HW Bush , the father of the orders of
America at the time, Chancellor Merkel and, of course , the inevitable
Areopagus accustomed to these diplomatic feasts oils. The U.S. authorities have done things and building location is perfect, with multiple points of view. At the heart of the German state apparatus . Located
"Place de Paris", the Reichstag, Chancellery and many other economic and
political buildings are not accessible to large ears but carefully
positioned . And
our brother is not going to mince words to describe the purpose of the
embassy : " The U.S. diplomatic mission in the German capital has
certainly not intended to promote German- American friendship . Instead, it is a nest of spies . From
the roof of the embassy , a special unit of the CIA and the NSA
apparently can monitor a large part of mobile communications in the
government district . ".
Under these conditions, if this turned out and it seems to be the case at least in part , bilateral relations between Europe and the U.S. will experience a serious chill . This obviously has not escaped the U.S. President already quite battered by its own public opinion . This is why Barack Obama just said he was not aware of such acts, according to the Wall Street Journal. We are of course not obliged to believe it but it was probably intended to prepare for the inevitable cleaning should be done within the NSA in the coming weeks . In any case, there is evidence that the U.S. President was not aware it's even more annoying because it shows that the U.S. Secret Service have gone well above U.S. law, which would be significantly worse than Watergate, which had the approval and even encouragement of President Richard Nixon and leading also to resign.
For those who are interested in these topics, we strongly recommend reading the book by Robert Littel entitled The Company and a large part goes to Berlin and the ashes legacy of Tim Weiner tells the story of the CIA. These two works, one by Tim Weiner, historical, and other fictionalized but based on evidence used to get rid of the torrent of naivety that covers too many of our contemporaries, journalists or not, about U.S. practices information .
