LinkedIn notify its members in case of request for access to personal data

LinkedIn announced major changes in the conditions of use of its services. The professional social network now inform its members in case of requests for access to personal data from legitimate authorities. A measure which will, however, be exceptions.

The shock wave of Edward Snowden revelations about the spying program established by the NSA continues to spread. And now requires internet service providers to change the conditions of their services.

To clarify its privacy policy, LinkedIn announced changes to Section 2.14 of its TOS (terms of service): "We will take measures to inform members of the requests for access to their personal data, we can not avoid it legally, or if the request is considered an emergency. "LinkedIn does not say much for the identity of the (government) agencies that escape this rule.

LinkedIn also announced that "deny requests (if the judge) too broad, too vague, or if the applicant does not have the authority."

LinkedIn has also indicated a change affecting section 1.2 of the Terms of Use, which provides for the use by members of their phone number, to identify with their LinkedIn account.
