Samsung Galaxy S5: Global launch April 11

After several years of strong growth, the premium segment of smartphones starts to slow. Consumers in Western countries are very equipped and less frequently renew their model. Today, they expect significant innovations to plunge.

Leader Samsung sector is affected by this trend. There are some days, the group published its preliminary results for the first quarter 2014. For the second consecutive quarter, the operating profit was down. Representing 56% of total revenue, the mobile division is very important to Samsung.
So much so that the group relies on its new top model,  Galaxy S5, which it markets globally on 11 April.

Galaxy S5 has a super AMOLED screen of 5.1 inches Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels), a quad-core processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 clocked at 2.5 GHz, RAM 2 GB of storage space 16 or 32 GB, expandable via microSD. Android 4.4.2, the smartphone is equipped with a rear camera sensor 16 megapixel and 2.1 megapixel front, a battery of 2800 mAh and supports 4G, WiFi and NFC.

Beyond technical performance, the main innovations are the presence of a fingerprint sensor and a heart rate reader. The side of the design, Samsung has remained on a plastic shell, although the back of the smartphone is working.
