Angry Birds: the publisher, Rovio sees its profits declined sharply

Best known for creating the hit mobile game Angry Birds, the Finnish company Rovio is now extending its activities and develops different content. This goal is not easy to achieve. The company has to publish its results for the year 2013. If sales grew 2.5%, net profit increased from 55.5 million dollars to 26.9 million dollars.

Who does not know Angry Birds? Between the first series of mobile games and variations and derivatives, the game, or at least the characters are known to many. Beyond the more than 2 million people have downloaded a date versions of Angry Birds, amusement parks or the next film in its glory convert other.

The publishing company of this label, Rovio Entertainment, has obviously benefited from that success. The development of products has led to expand its activities and become the creator of various multimedia content.

 Rovio obtained a turnover of 156 million dollars. This allows him to remain in growth since the beginning of the success of Angry Birds. In 2011, the company had collected a turnover of 75.6 million dollars and 152.2 million in 2012. Regarding earnings, the trend is different. Indeed, in 2011 it reached 35.4 million dollars, 55.5 million in 2012 and dropped to 26.9 million in 2013.
Rovio explains its results through the many investments made in 2013. Among them, the company evokes the opening of six parks located, among others, Spain, Finland and China.
