Firefox Flame smartphone running Firefox OS available

Introduced in February, the first smartphone running Firefox OS available pre-order. Available on e-commerce website everbuying.com for 170.00 dollars, consumers will receive it within 4 weeks.

At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Firefox OS was at the heart of several new features. Different manufacturers such as Alcatel OneTouch, ZTE and Huawei presented smartphones and tablets running the OS open source, but not only because Firefox Flame also unveiled the first smartphone running  Firefox OS for developers.

Asa Dotzler, director of Firefox OS department, announced that the Flame smartphone is now available for pre-order.

Developed in partnership with ThunderSoft that manufactures and develops and updates Flame, this smartphone is meant to be a "reference device" midrange.

The smartphone is equipped with a 4.5 inch screen resolution of 854 × 480 pixels, a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 1.2 GHz, adjustable RAM 256 MB to 1 GB storage space of 8 GB, expandable via microSD . Also, the Flame has a rear 5-megapixel photo sensor, front 2 megapixel camera, a battery of 1800 mAh, is dual SIM and WiFi and Bluetooth enabled.
