Instagram: more active members than Twitter by the end of 2014
Instagram, owned by Facebook, reaffirms its ambitions overshadow Twitter in number of monthly active users and pass the billion members in the coming years. Instagram is poised to win its first bet.
Interviewed by Business Insider, the Director of Instagram Operations Jim Squires states that the mobile app for sharing photos today has 200 million monthly active users, which now up to the scope of Twitter and its 255 million active members every month.
Founded in 2010, Instagram has taken less than four years to pass this course, where Twitter, founded in 2006, had to wait six years to reach 200 million subscribers, in a context of less dense competition.

Instagram doubles every year the number of its subscribers. Although this rapid growth will settle necessarily, Instagram should logically exceed Twitter in the coming months.
Growth which necessarily asks businesses the choice of social networks where develop their presence, especially since 2/3 of Instagram users are outside the United States.
Jim Squires also explains Instagram aims in the medium term, the symbolic billion users, which would place it in the wake of Facebook.
