Framapad wants to be a serious alternative to Google Docs

Framapad.org is a French association for the promotion of "free". Currently, the association hosts a crowdfunding campaign on Ullule platform to raise funds. Objective: To develop a collaborative tool that could dethrone Google Docs.

Create a "pad" is to create a word processing document online that you can share with anyone you want in a few clicks. Just send by email the URL of the document then all is done. The number of shares is unlimited and a basic word processing functions are developed: formatting, creating indented paragraph, managing font.

Originally EtherPad, acquired by Google a solution that quickly opened the floodgates and release code. The developers of the French association are entered and Framapad was born with what might be called a "French touch" the management of accents for example. Now, the creators want to go further, allow to store the pads, to create personal accounts.
