Nintendo, closure of headquarters in Germany and deleting 130 jobs

Nintendo in a complex situation, the video game industry advantage over Sony and Microsoft. There is little, the Japanese group published its third consecutive negative balance. A major consequence is the closure of European headquarters in Großostheim. It will be replaced by headquarters in Frankfurt. This decision involves the elimination of 130 jobs.

End of March, Nintendo ended 2014 fiscal year. With sales of consoles and inadequate to meet the competitors Sony and Microsoft games group accumulation deficits for the third consecutive year. With a turnover equivalent to 4 billion dollars, the fiscal year ended with a deficit of 328 million dollars. This is the worst performance since 2006. A complex situation for Nintendo struggling to boost sales.

Nintendo has, in fact, send a press release which states that the warehouse and headquarters in Großostheim, Germany, will be closed. In addition, outsourcing and some functions will be reorganized around headquarters in Frankfurt, which represent, now, the European headquarters of Nintendo. This reorganization will lead to the elimination of 130 jobs based in Großostheim and Frankfurt.

However, this initiative will reduce slightly the burden of Nintendo. However, the group will have to find other ways to boost sales and achieve positive financial results.
