According to the IBM press release, the first projects concern the development of nanotechnology and alternative technologies to enable a larger number of queries, and faster communication. IBM will also continue to invest in nanoscience and quantum computing, two areas where the group is "pioneer for three decades."
"Continuing these investments will allow to give a boost to innovation and the development of specific products for the IBM computer systems around the cloud and data analysis," explains IBM statement.
