Nokia Acquires Nice Systems and SAC Wireless

Nokia (Networks) provides two companies quick succession: one specializing in network deployment, other in mapping and geolocation systems.

Nokia Networks would seek to sell or change the industry, it will not be the case obviously. After the sale of the mobile business to Microsoft, the Finnish supplier the opportunity to shop.

First sector under: cartography. Recall that following the takeover bid from Microsoft, Nokia has retained some networks, but also a strong patent portfolio and especially HERE division. This start-up provides a mapping solution coupled with a GPS system. However, this acquisition is not public and should serve to Nokia to improve the planning and optimization of mobile networks. "We believe that with the expertise of Nokia, Nice Systems solutions will help us provide an overview of the performance of mobile networks." In addition, with the proliferation of networks, following the arrival of LTE and small cells, mobile optimization becomes a strategic axis.

Nokia also announced the acquisition of U.S. SAC Wireless, a company specializing in network deployment. We are talking about upgrades to LTE/4G systems, DAS (distributed antenna) and FTTx networks. With this acquisition, Nokia become one of the few manufacturers able to offer this level of service in terms of network deployment.
